Lewis Hamilton has taken to social media to recall the "ridiculous" dream he had as he celebrates a landmark 20th season in F1.
The seven-time champion is to start his 20th season of grand prix racing in 2026, during which time he has competed in 380 of 381 grands prix held, won a record 105 of them and claimed a record-equaling seven titles.
Hamilton is coming off the back of his worst season in F1 in 2025, in which he failed to claim a grand prix podium for his new Ferrari team, although he did win the Chinese GP Sprint and also take third in the shorter Miami race.
During his long career, Hamilton has suffered what he called "brutal lows" including his 2011 season at McLaren, where off-track circumstances affected him on it and the massive drop in performance from Mercedes in 2022, where he went winless for the first time in his career, the year after he was pipped to a record-breaking eighth title by Max Verstappen in the controversial Abu Dhabi showdown.
Taking to Instagram, Hamilton showcased one image from every year of his glittering career, ahead of this weekend's season-opening Australian GP, which he has won twice, in 2008 and 2015.
