The Cadillac F1 squad has announced the signing of Marc Hynes, who joins the team in the role of chief racing officer.
Hynes, a former racing driver himself, is perhaps best known for his association with seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton.
The duo are known to be long-time friends, with Hynes forming part of Hamilton's inner circle during the Briton's successful years at Mercedes.
However, the duo parted ways a handful of years ago before reuniting ahead of Hamilton's first season with Ferrari in 2025.
But it emerged over the last week that the pair had split again as Hynes reportedly closed in on a new role with Cadillac.
The American squad has now confirmed Hynes' appointment.
“Building a new team in Formula 1 is a rare challenge, and I’m excited to help shape the culture, processes, and performance standards from the very beginning,” Hynes said.
“We have a strong and diverse driver line-up, and my focus will be on creating the clarity, alignment, and discipline needed to allow everyone - drivers and engineers alike - to perform at their very best.”
As part of his duties, Hynes will be tasked with aligning the driver roster and engineering groups and working to streamline processes between the engineering departments.
He will also manage its driver programme, which consists of full-time drivers Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, reserve driver Zhou Guanyu and test driver Colton Herta.
