Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri have both picked up penalty points on their super licences after getting tangled up in incidents during the São Paulo Grand Prix.
Hamilton ran into the back of Franco Colapinto's Alpine at high speed early in the race and suffered heavy damage to his front wing.
The seven-time champion was already carrying damage after being hit by Carlos Sainz on the opening lap and eventually retired from the race.
Having picked up a five-second time penalty, which was served during the grand prix, the stewards opted to give Hamilton a penalty point on his super licence - his third in the last 12 months.
Piastri, who lost further ground to team-mate Lando Norris in the championship fight, is edging closer to a race ban after being handed another two penalty points on his super licence.
The Australian was blamed for a collision with Kimi Antonelli at an early safety car restart, which pitched the Mercedes driver into Charles Leclerc, who was subsequently forced to retire.
Piastri served a 10-second time penalty during a pit stop, while the super licence points takes him to six in the last 12 months.
Yuki Tsunoda was also given two penalty points on his super licence after tipping around Lance Stroll during the grand prix, taking his tally to seven.
Any driver who receives 12 penalty points in a 12-month period is handed an automatic race ban.
