Max Verstappen's new Red Bull contract contains “agreements” that are being kept under wraps, according to Max's father Jos.
The four-time champion has penned an extension with Red Bull, committing himself to the team until at least the end of the 2030 season.
Prior to the announcement, speculation was rife over a possible exit for Verstappen to a rival team, with a performance-related clause available for the Dutchman to trigger.
However, he has instead placed his faith in the future of Red Bull - however, Jos has hinted that fresh clauses have been introduced with the new deal.
“Yes, there is confidence that we will get a winning car again at Red Bull,” he told Formule1.
“But to what extent they will actually manage that remains to be seen, of course; you never know.
“That is something the team will have to take care of.
“Naturally, agreements have been made regarding this in the contract. We know what those agreements are, and Red Bull knows, and we are not going to broadcast them.”
Nevertheless, the new deal has put an end to speculation that he could make a move to a rival team in the near future.
Jos asserted that stability was important for team harmony as they look to return to the front of the grid.
“Max wants a car with which he can win,” he added. “That confidence is there.
“The most important thing at this moment is that calm returns on this front.
“I must say, Raymond [Vermeulen, Verstappen’s manager] has done a good job, together with Oliver Mintzlaff from Red Bull.
“The most important argument is that there is mutual trust. Otherwise, of course, we wouldn’t have signed the contract.”
