Jake Dennis has revealed that he is eager to sign a new contract with Andretti Formula E, aiming to continue with the team into the Gen4 era.

The Briton's current deal expires at the end of the upcoming 12th season of the all-electric series, which also marks the conclusion of the current regulatory cycle.

Season 13 will introduce Gen4, a car expected to push Formula E into uncharted territory due to its performance capabilities.

Dennis is among several drivers seeking new contracts for the Gen4 era; however, the Season 9 world champion is attracting considerable interest.

Despite interest from elsewhere, his priority remains staying with Andretti – the only team he has raced for during his five-year Formula E career.

"I mean, definitely conversations have already happened," Dennis told RacingNews365. "You'd be slow to the market if you started halfway through next year.

"There's definitely conversations being had, good conversations with Andretti. And yeah, we're slowly moving towards the right direction. Obviously, nothing's been signed as of yet. But, we're in a good place.

"I want to continue with Andretti in the future. That's my intention, to really get the team back to where we were in Season 9. We've hired some good personnel for the future years coming up, and that's important for me."

Future Andretti opportunities

An additional reason for Dennis' eagerness to remain with Andretti is the transformation taking place within the wider organisation.

The Andretti Global organisation was acquired by TWG Global in November last year and has since established TWG Motorsports to oversee its various racing programmes.

This includes not only the Andretti Formula E team, but also its IndyCar squad, the new Cadillac F1 Team, and other categories.

As a result, there are growing opportunities for drivers within the organisation, with Dennis describing the project led by TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss as "exciting."

"It's not just about how quick the race car is. It's the whole package, it's Andretti Global," added Dennis. "The status of what these guys have, what Dan does to the whole project, his involvement.

"It's not just the small side of Andretti Formula E, the package is so much bigger, the whole Cadillac situation as well. So, there's lots to look into, lots of positive things.

"I'm super excited to see where my future goes for Season 13 and 14. But yeah, obviously, right now, nothing is signed, but yeah, I think it should be an exciting project."
