Isack Hadjar has stated his promotion to Red Bull does not feel like he has joined a new team.
Following a successful rookie campaign in 2025 with Racing Bulls, Hadjar was called up to the senior squad to partner Max Verstappen.
Hadjar has long been associated with the team, joining its junior academy in 2021 as he progressed through the junior ranks.
But having made various practice and test appearances for the team, Hadjar insisted he is already acclimatised and does not have to go through the process of getting up to speed in a new environment.
“It didn't really feel like jumping into a new team, to be honest,” Hadjar told media including RacingNews365.
“I've been doing FP1s for this team already, back in 2023 and 2024. I've been signed in 2021.
“At the end of the day, I'm working with engineers that I've known for a while now. I've been on simulator support sessions with them for the team.
“It made the transition a lot easier.”
Hadjar will be reuniting with Laurent Mekies this year, marking the second time he has worked with his compatriot, prior to the latter's Red Bull promotion midway through 2025.
Taking comfort in rekindling the partnership, Hadjar said: “Having Laurent as a leader is great.
“I made my debut in F1 with him, stepping into my second season with him is good.
“It's nice, it's been very smooth, very lucky.”
