Isack Hadjar has been warned that his tendency to “explode” behind the wheel will not be tolerated at Red Bull next year.

Hadjar has been promoted to the team for the 2026 season and will partner Max Verstappen following an impressive rookie campaign.

Throughout his racing career, Hadjar has not been one to be discreet with his emotions over team radio when things have not gone in his favour.

Hadjar confessed earlier this year that he is still “shouting and insulting” inside the car, but has made steps to restrain himself from pressing the radio button when doing so.

But former F1 driver Anthony Davidson has suggested Hadjar still has more work to do to keep his emotions under control when he joins Red Bull.

“I think he’s going to have to learn how to not explode,” Davidson told Sky F1.

“He’s going to have to work on that, going up against Max next year in the Red Bull team.

“We’ve seen he’s driven a brilliant season this year.

“But there have been many moments from this season where things haven’t gone his way, and he absolutely erupted inside the car.

“That won’t be tolerated inside the team at Red Bull. It's very entertaining, it's going to be box office.”

France has not enjoyed consistent F1 success from a driver since the days of Alain Prost in the 1980s.

Hadjar has been compared to the four-time champion in his early career as he looks to mould his own success story.

When the comparison was put to Davidson, he stated: “He's definitely more edgy than Alain Prost.

“There's definitely more of an edge to him in how cutting he can be and how kind of emotional he can be.”
