Isack Hadjar has asserted it will be “crucial” to integrate himself at Red Bull as quickly as possible to ensure he starts next year in the best possible form.
Red Bull announced earlier this week that Hajdar will be promoted to the front-running squad in 2026 alongside Verstappen.
The decision comes after a strong rookie campaign in F1, a season that peaked at the Dutch Grand Prix where Hadjar scored a maiden podium result.
Coupled with the on-track struggles of Yuki Tsunoda, Red Bull opted to make the switch for the start of the sport's new era under a fresh set of technical regulations.
With much to learn about the team's plans for the 2026 car, Hadjar is aiming to get started as quickly as possible in order to commence next year on the right foot.
“I have no expectations at all, because we're starting from scratch,” Hadjar told media including RacingNews365.
“I'm just really looking forward to January, February, working with the team, getting to know the people.
“It's going to be crucial to try and be ahead a bit.”
While the move to Red Bull has been heavily speculated for several months, the Milton Keynes squad left it late to officially make its decision.
Hadjar stated he was informed of the move in a conversation with team advisor Helmut Marko.
“There was no very cool phone call where I pick up the phone and it's like 'you're a Red Bull Racing driver',” he said.
“It was just a talk with Helmut that I had, who made me understand I was driving for Red Bull and I had to deliver. That's it.
“It's a very good moment in my career, that's for sure, for all the hard work through the years being rewarded now.
“It's just the beginning of a new journey, but very excited stepping into a new era of Formula 1.”
