McLaren can wrap up a 10th F1 constructors' title in this weekend's Azerbaijan Grand Prix, and retain the title for the first time since 1991.
Not since Ayrton Senna and Gerhard Berger combined to land the 1991 crown has McLaren defended the constructors', but Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris can do so this weekend in Baku, and break another record if they do.
Should McLaren win the title this weekend, it will break Red Bull's 2023 record for the earliest, by race, constructors' title win, with seven races remaining. beating Red Bull's record of six.
Below is how McLaren can win the 2025 constructors' title in the Azerbaijan GP!
How McLaren can win the constructors' in Azerbaijan
As it stands, heading to Azerbaijan, McLaren is on 617 points, 337 clear of Ferrari in second place on 260, 357 clear of Mercedes in third on 240, and 378 clear of Red Bull in fourth on 239.
All three of those teams are mathematically in with a chance of winning the title, with 389 left up for grabs across the final eight race weekends, including three Sprints.
After the Baku weekend, there will be a total of 346 points remaining in the season, meaning McLaren must be at least 346 points clear of second place to win the title, being guaranteed on countback by the number of wins.
It means that if McLaren out-scores Ferrari by just nine points, and is not out-scored by Mercedes by 12 or more points and Red Bull by 33 or more points, it will win the constructors' title in Azerbaijan.
Doing so will move McLaren to 10 constructors' titles, overtaking Williams into outright second on the all-time list, with only Ferrari ahead on 16 titles, its last coming in 2008.
