George Russell believes his Mercedes team should have been more decisive and acted immediately, "or not at all," following the team orders drama which unfolded in the Mexico City Grand Prix. 

Russell was running in fifth place with around 30 laps to go in Mexico and was behind team-mate Kimi Antonelli, who in turn was behind shock contender Oliver Bearman for Haas, running in third.

George Russell reveals crucial Mercedes contract clause

George Russell has confirmed there is a clause in his new Mercedes contract that means he will "100 per cent" be staying with the team if he continues to perform well in F1 next season.

The British driver's new deal was announced ahead of the United States Grand Prix, and whilst widely understood to be for potentially multiple years, only 2026 was explicitly mentioned.

Lando Norris converted pole position into victory with remarkable ease in the Mexico City Grand Prix, to take the lead of the F1 drivers' title for the first time since Saudi Arabia. 

After claiming pole by nearly three-tenths of a second, Norris aced the start at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez before going on to win by a staggering 30 seconds.

Lando Norris compared to Max Verstappen in 'world champion' claim

Lando Norris "did not put one foot wrong" at the Mexico City Grand Prix, Jacques Villeneuve has said after the McLaren driver eased to a superb victory, the 10th of his F1 career.

The Briton finished half a minute ahead of Charles Leclerc in second place, the biggest winning margin since Max Verstappen won the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2023.

Revealed: Why Lewis Hamilton avoided double FIA Mexican GP punishment

Lewis Hamilton was one of several drivers who were caught up in the lap one chaos at the front of the grid at the start of the Mexico City Grand Prix.

The seven-time champion was momentarily second on the road before losing a place to team-mate Charles Leclerc, who skipped Turn 2 by taking to the run-off area.
