Alex Albon has explained a notable difference between his contract extension announcement and that of team-mate Carlos Sainz.
Earlier this month, Williams confirmed that it would retain its current line-up for the 2027 campaign, with the declarations coming one day apart.
Albon's extension stated that he would remain for 2027, while Sainz's press release highlighted a multi-year stay.
Williams has endured a challenging campaign thus far, slipping down the order compared to its position last season.
Albon has stated he is keen to see a tangible shift from the struggles it has endured this year before committing further.
“On my side, I want to see a reaction,” Albon told media including RacingNews365.
“I want to see what the team can deliver. I want to see a strong bounce back from this year.
“We talk about the performance of the car, but there has been a lot of areas as a team that we haven't delivered on.
“Whether it's the quality of the car or the weight... but missing testing, there are a few things this year that we've let slip.”
Albon has been part of Williams for several years, joining in 2022 following a season on the sidelines.
Having endured various ups and downs with the Grove-based since his arrival, Albon insisted there are still a number of issues that need rectifying.
“I know JV [James Vowles, team principal] and everyone at the team is doing a huge effort to correct these issues.
“But it's not just one single thing, this year, it's been quite a few things.
“There's still work that needs to be done.”
