The FIA has landed a key hire from the Williams F1 team by recruiting Lee Fedden to the role of digital director.
Fedden will lead the development and execution of digital strategy, focusing primarily on advancing data integration, analytics, and digital solutions. He will be instrumental in driving the Federation's digital initiatives forward.
Fedden brings with him nearly two decades of experience in digital strategy and transformation, most recently leading the data and analytics department at Williams.
Welcoming Fedden to the FIA, president Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: "We are delighted that someone of Lee’s renowned expertise is joining the organisation to oversee the transformation of our IT operations.
"Lee brings a wealth of experience to the role of streamlining our digital and information systems and driving engagement with our stakeholders, particularly our Member Clubs."
Assessing his upcoming role which he starts on Monday, Fedden said: "I am thrilled to join the FIA at such an exciting time. I look forward to leveraging my experience in digital transformation to enhance our digital capabilities and support the FIA's mission."
Fedden's appointment comes in the wake of a number of significant departures at the FIA this year, notably Niels Wittich as F1 race director this week.
