Ferrari reveal name for their 2022 F1 car

Ferrari have shared the name of their upcoming F1 challenger, which will be launched on 17 February.

Ferrari's new F1 car will be called the F1-75, the team have announced. Ferrari had already confirmed that the car will be launched on 17 February , but the chassis name was unknown. The F1-75 moniker has been chosen to mark the 75th anniversary of Ferrari's first production car rolling out of the factory in Maranello. It was on 12 March 1947 that company founder Enzo Ferrari fired up the engine of the 125 S for the very first time. "Formula 1, with its spirit of competition and innovation, has always been a fundamental part of Ferrari, driving the technological development of our road cars," commented Ferrari Chairman John Elkann. "This year, as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of our first production car leaving the factory, we honour that spirit by naming our 2022 F1 challenger the Ferrari F1-75." Ferrari will continue with an unchanged driver line-up of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in 2022, after the pair helped the team climb to third in the Constructors' standings.
