Haas F1 driver Oliver Bearman has highlighted his life “goal” is to drive full-time for Ferrari.
Bearman is currently partaking in his rookie F1 campaign, having had three substitute appearances last year.
His first surprise race start came with Ferrari at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where he sat in for an unwell Carlos Sainz and left many impressed by his performance.
Bearman's other two outings came with Haas in Baku and Brazil before being promoted to a 2025 race seat with the American squad.
Having been part of Ferrari's junior academy for several years, the 20-year-old has admitted his long-term aspiration is to be signed by the squad in a full-time capacity.
“Of course that's my goal in life,” Bearman told media including RacingNews365.
“I got a taste of doing that when I got the call up last year and that is my motivation in life, to hopefully one day be able to do that.”
However, Bearman asserted he is not placing any specific timeline to be called up to the seat, asserting his current performance at Haas is his primary focus.
“I’m focused on my thing over here, and [there's ]not really much communication between myself and Ferrari,” he said.
“My job is to show what I'm capable of, and leave teams in general without a choice. That's my job, to do the best possible. And that's a long way away. It doesn't happen overnight.
“But no time frame, nothing like that.
“I’m just focusing on what I'm doing, trying to improve myself because I still see a lot of room to grow within this team and also to make the most out of myself on a more consistent basis.
“I can still see a big trajectory within myself, which is a good feeling, and means the more I focus on myself, the better everything's going to be.”
