Isack Hadjar will sit out the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, as he continues to experience pain in the wrist he injured over the F1 summer break, RacingNews365 has learned.
Team principal Laurent Mekies has maintained since the start of this episode that there is no need to risk Hadjar's long-term health, a point that is particularly relevant given the driver depth the Milton Keynes-based team — and Racing Bulls — enjoys.
The 21-year-old skipped the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort after a training incident hurt his wrist, with Liam Lawson stepping into the RB22 alongside Max Verstappen.
The New Zealander performed well, securing six points with a seventh-placed finish, realistically the best result on offer.
Yuki Tsunoda deputised, in turn, for Lawson at Racing Bulls and beat Arvid Lindblad to P11, narrowly missing out on points of his own upon his F1 return.
Hadjar was present in the paddock over that weekend, with his forearm in a protective sleeve. However, the round at the Temple of Speed has come too soon for him as his injury endures.
Red Bull will retain the same driver pairings for the Italian Grand Prix, given how well the Japanese driver and Lawson both performed in their respective temporary seats.
