Fernando Alonso is to be celebrated at the 2026 Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix with the launch of 'Alonso Land'.
For the final year of its F1 contract, the race at the long-time Spanish GP venue is to change name to the 'Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix' as a street track in Madrid joins as the official Spanish GP.
The 2026 race will mark 20 years since then-world champion Alonso won the 2006 Spanish GP for Renault - one of two wins he has enjoyed at the track. He remains the only Spanish driver to do so.
As such, organisers have launched 'Alonso Land', an entertainment area dedicated to the Oviedo-native, featuring both grandstand and general admission tickets.
Special merchandise will also be available in the packages, with full details about the live entertainment line-ups to be announced closer to the race.
Alonso also won the 2013 Spanish GP for Ferrari, which is his last F1 victory to date. This came in his 201st grand prix start, with Azerbaijan this weekend set to be his 418th, meaning over half of his career has passed since his last win.
