Martin Brundle has warned Ferrari that another on-track incident between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc "will happen again" after their Mexico feud.
Hamilton and team boss Fred Vasseur were furious following Sunday's race after Leclerc attacked Hamilton at Turn 4 on the opening lap for the lead, and cut the track.
He earned a five-second time penalty, but crucially, Max Verstappen was able to sneak ahead of Hamilton, meaning Leclerc could not simply give the place back to his team-mate - with Verstappen going onto win from Hamilton.
Post race, Hamilton declared that he was "really pi**ed" at Ferrari losing out on an easy one-two victory, with Vasseur indicating he would talk to both his drivers over their latest on-track fight.
In China, the two engaged in a fierce battle for third, whilst in Italy, Leclerc also attacked Hamilton at Turn 2, forcing the seven-time champion wide and down the order on the opening lap.
Following their latest spat, despite clear-the-air talks, Brundle believes that more pain is coming.
"I think it cost them. Max was pretty quick, but I think the squabbling cost them because it cost Lewis track position quite badly with Max," Brundle told Sky Sports News.
"Charles should have given the place back, but he couldn't because cunning old Max Verstappen got himself in between the two Ferraris, as he often does, as he tried to do back in Madrid earlier on in the year. So, you know what? They're hardwired racing drivers, and they race.
"It's a curious business we have where you perform as an individual totally in a team environment. You're measured as an individual. You're rewarded as an individual. But when the adrenaline's up, and the chance of the gap is there, as the great Ayrton Senna said: 'If you no longer go for a gap that exists, you're no longer a racing driver' - and that's what they did.
"You're the only the final link in the chain of your team, but you're the one out there that's that's got to got to deliver in the heat of the moment.
"So Ferrari will have to manage that down somehow, and they'll sit down, and we'll go to Brazil.
"I go to Brazil on Wednesday. We will all head over there, and they will say: 'Yes. We sat down, understood it all, and we move forward, and it won't happen again.'
"But in reality, we know that it will.”
