With the drivers' title in the bag for Kimi Antonelli, Mercedes head to the Sao Paulo Grand Prix on the cusp of winning the constructors' title for another championship double.
As it stands, Mercedes has 630 points to nearest challenger Ferrari on 504 - a gap of 126 points heading into the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
With four rounds still planned, it means there are 172 points left on the table - with 129 remaining following the race weekend at Interlagos.
It means that for Mercedes to claim the 2026 F1 constructors' title in Brazil, it must simply outscore Ferrari by three points or more.
At the very least, if Ferrari fail to score in Sao Paulo, Antonelli or George Russell would be required to finish at least eighth - and earn four points.
For Ferrari to continue the fight to Las Vegas, it must out-score Mercedes by four or more points, meaning an eighth-place finish is the minimum required if Mercedes fail to score.
If the gap is exactly 126 points following the Sao Paulo GP, Mercedes will win on countback, with the team enjoying 12 wins to Ferrari's two at present, with the number of wins used as the first tie-breaker when points are level.
Should Mercedes win the constructors' title in 2026, it will be the team's ninth title overall - drawing level with Williams for third on the all-time list.
