Gabriel Bortoleto has handed Fernando Alonso the ultimate praise by insisting that he is "one of the greatest of all-time" in Formula 1, and deserves more than two titles.

This season represents the 19th since Alonso's 2006 F1 drivers' title, with his search for a third still ongoing.

Alonso has come close on several occasions to winning more championships in F1, particularly in 2010 and 2012.

Unfortunately, the Aston Martin driver has failed to get a third title across the finish line, something which continues to fuel him to race in the pinnacle of motorsport.

Bortoleto, a driver in Alonso's management company A14, is a huge admirer of the 44-year-old, and is insistent that two titles does not do the Spaniard justice.

Asked if Alonso deserves more than two world titles, Bortoleto told select media including RacingNews365: "Definitely, yes, I think he's one of the greatest of all-time, in my view.

"Unfortunately, that's how Formula 1 works. You need to be in the right place, in the right time. I think there is many talented drivers that have not been able to be world champions.

"Some drivers that were world champions not saying they don't deserve it, all of them deserve it because if you are a world champion in Formula 1, you are a very good driver.

"But, like, it's not a very fair comparison. And I think Fernando deserved many more titles from the way he was driving, and he was very close to getting these titles anyway."
