'Extraordinary' McLaren sale labelled an 'important and respectful transfer of a legacy'

An "extraordinary" 20-car McLaren collection curated by the late Mansour Ojjeh has been sold in its entirety to a single, anonymous buyer. The landmark deal, brokered by specialist Tom Hartley Jnr, keeps what is arguably the most significant single-marque supercar collection ever assembled intact. The sale marks the second monumental collection handled by the dealer in recent months, following the transfer of Bernie Ecclestone’s 69 historic Grand Prix cars to Red Bull heir Mark Mateschitz. While the Ecclestone deal featured cars raced by legends like Juan Manuel Fangio and Michael Schumacher, the Ojjeh collection represents the complete legacy of one man’s vision for the McLaren road car brand. The collection's unrepeatable nature has captivated connoisseurs worldwide. Each of the 20 supercars is the final production chassis of its respective model, with nearly all remaining in unused, factory-fresh condition, creating a uniquely exclusive offering.

Legacy preserved over record bids

Highlighting the ensemble is the final McLaren F1 ever built, specified by Ojjeh in a bespoke ‘Yquem’ shade now known as ‘Mansour Orange’. It is accompanied by the last-built examples of the P1 GTR, Speedtail, Sabre, Elva, and several Senna variants, representing pillars of McLaren's supercar history. The McLaren F1 alone attracted multiple world-record offers, but the Ojjeh family and Hartley Jnr were committed to preserving the collection as a singular ensemble. The entire group of cars has now passed to one new custodian for an undisclosed sum, ensuring the collection remains intact.
