Sky Sports launch unique nationwide F1 competition

The winner of the nationwide competition will receive some very unique prizes

Sky Sports F1 has launched its first-ever nationwide competition to find a content creator to become part of its on-screen presenting team.

Called 'Grid Insider', the hope is to find a "fresh voice" from the ever-increasing pool of F1 content creators and place them at the heart of some programmes on the channel.

The winning candidate will receive the opportunity to present a segment on 'The F1 Show', feature as a guest on the official Sky F1 podcast, as well as take on hosting duties for both an episode of 'Paddock Pass' and a watch party for one of the 24 grands prix in the 2026 season, as well as other "money can't buy prizes."

To apply, those interested can visit skysportsgridinsider.sky.com to submit an explanation why they should become the first 'Grid Insider', with the current Sky Sports F1 team selecting an initial shortlist, and these candidates then being required to produce a piece of content which best shows off their talent and abilities.

The wider public will ultimately decide the winner.

"The explosion of F1's popularity is in large part due to the growing creator and fan community," said 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button, who will be returning to the channel as one of its on-screen pundits this year.

"Sky Sports has launched this competition, which is an unbelievable opportunity for a creator with passion and genuine knowledge of the sport to show that they can entertain, inform and deliver on the biggest stage.

"I am really looking forward to seeing the creativity and personality creators bring, as well as welcoming the eventual winner to the team this season."

In preparation for the competition, some of Sky's talent have created a spoof 'X Factor' style audience process, with Martin Brundle, Natalie Pinkham, Bernie Collins, and Button judging the talent, including some familiar faces...
