Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali is hopeful Ferrari will improve on their 2020 form, stating that even rivals Mercedes and Red Bull want to see the Scuderia improve. After a nightmare season where the Maranello based team struggled for pace, there is optimism around Italy that resurgence could take place in the upcoming season. The team's former principal hopes this is the case as he believes it is better for the sport. "We need Ferrari in Formula 1 and we need them to compete at the right level," Domenicali told Sky Sports F1. “It's clear that Ferrari had a tough year. They need to find a way back to the front, but I expect they will do better than last year as they have at least had time to get on the engine. That is the area where development is still possible within the regulations. "I even think that Toto Wolff and Christian Horner want to see Ferrari compete for the world title." Domenicali is confident Ferrari's new driver lineup will be a success, as Carlos Sainz has been brought in to partner Charles Leclerc after the departure of Sebastian Vettel "Charles is a great driver and I think Carlos started his adventure with the right mentality," Domenicali concluded.
