Cadillac F1 appears poised to unveil a new driver as early as Monday, 5th January, with the American marque dropping a series of increasingly suggestive hints across its social media channels.

A recent post in particular has caught the attention of the F1 paddock. The image features a pair of feline eyes, while a closer inspection reveals a subtly embedded Cadillac logo accompanied by the number 24 — or at least the suggestion of one. When discussions turn to race numbers and feline symbolism, one name quickly rises to the surface: Zhou Guanyu, a well-known cat enthusiast.

Lando Norris beats Max Verstappen to biggest F1 super license bill

Lando Norris will have the biggest sum to pay for his FIA super license ahead of the 2026 Formula 1 season, having scored the most points last season. 

For four consecutive years, Max Verstappen had received the largest bill, although this spot has been taken by Norris after falling two points short of the McLaren driver.

Toto Wolff has dismissed the notion that Mercedes would have been able to recover from its initial missteps at the start of the contemporary ground effects era of F1 had it not been for the cost cap.

Oscar Piastri has recalled his "pretty tense" public rejection of an Alpine F1 seat for the 2023 season, which saw his move to McLaren referred to the FIA's Contract Recognition Board (CRB).

The Australian driver was signed to Renault's/Alpine's junior programme for the 2020 season after winning the Formula Renault Eurocup title, before securing the F3 and F2 championships in back-to-back campaigns.
