George Russell has been summoned by F1 stewards following Kimi Antonelli being crowned world champion in the Mexico City Grand Prix.
With third place, Antonelli became the 36th F1 world champion, and the youngest ever, with Russell's season finally ending in defeat as he took sixth place - having started in second place.
All drivers, unless they are excused for ill health by the FIA medical team, are required to attend the media pen post-race to debrief to TV crews and then the written media, but the Briton failed to do so.
This is an alleged breach of Article B10.4e of the regulations - with Russell also missing from the celebrations in front of the Mercedes garage post-race.
In its media WhatsApp group, Mercedes sent the following message to media, including RacingNews365.
"Hi all, just a note to say that George won’t be attending the media pen today. Apologies for the late notice and your understanding.
"We’ll make sure his post-race comments are available in our usual written materials."
Russell must attend the stewards at 19:00 local time.
