Aston Martin has gone a different route than its F1 rivals for the second Bahrain test when it comes to a key choice over its run plan.
Pre-season testing resumes this week in Bahrain as the teams put their cars through their final preparations ahead of the opening round from Australia.
The first test event in Bahrain saw the C1, C2 and C3 tyres accessible to the teams - but for the second outing, Pirelli's entire range was available for selection.
Teams were allowed to pick 24 sets of tyres for the second Bahrain test, and in a contrast to other teams, Aston Martin is the only squad who will not run the C1 or C2 compound.
The Silverstone-based squad has endured a difficult start to the new season, tallying the fewest laps of any team so far.
There are also concerns over the pace of the AMR26, with Lance Stroll asserting it is four seconds away from the pace of the front-runners.
Aston Martin has opted to bring 20 sets of the C3 tyre to Bahrain, as well as two sets each of the C4 and C5.
It is only one of four teams to bring the C5 tyre to the test, joining Williams, Alpine and Audi.
The C3 compound is easily the most popular choice out of all the tyres available, although McLaren, Audi and Cadillac have only selected eight sets of the middle option.
