Arvid Lindblad has highlighted he is aware of the challenge that awaits him in F1 next year when he steps up to Racing Bulls.
The 18-year-old has been handed a promotion to F1 at the sister Red Bull for the 2026 season, where he will partner Liam Lawson.
Lindblad has endured a mixed season in F2, winning two races and a further two podiums, leaving him sixth in the standings with one round remaining.
Having been part of the Red Bull family for several years, he hailed the impact the junior scheme has had on his career.
“I’d like to thank everyone at VCARB for the opportunity,” Lindblad said.
“Since I started this journey at five years old, it was always my goal to be in Formula 1 so it’s a proud moment to take this step.
“I’m extremely grateful to the Red Bull Junior Programme and my personal team for their guidance, mentorship and belief; none of this would have been possible without their support.
“2026 will be a big challenge and I know there’s a lot to learn, but I’m ready to work closely with the team and rise to it.
“I can’t wait to get started, it’s going to be an exciting year!”
Lindblad's promotion to F1 will come when the sport enters a new era under fresh technical regulations.
The British driver is the 20th competitor from the Red Bull junior programme to be handed a seat in F1.
