Antonio Felix da Costa made it back-to-back victories in Formula E, following strategy perfection in the inaugural Madrid E-Prix.
Starting from third, da Costa was amongst a first gaggle of cars to stop for Pit Boost on lap 11, with the Jaguar driver having undercut all the lead drivers at a sold-out Circuito del Jarama.
Once into the lead after all drivers had pitted for attack mode, the Season 6 champion had to defend from Dan Ticktum, Mitch Evans and Pascal Wehrlein.
Da Costa had to defend all the way to the final corner, with Ticktum falling to fourth at the last turn of the race behind Wehrlein, with Evans finishing in second for Jaguar one-two.
For polesitter Nick Cassidy, he had looked comfortable at the front after a strong start but was one of the last of the leading bunch to take Pit Boost.
It backfired massively, with it having ended his podium chances. By the end, the Citroën star tumbled to17th.
The race became a disaster from the start for reigning world champion Oliver Rowland, who was handed a drive-through penalty for using too much power when launching off the grid.
Nyck de Vries, who joined Cassidy on the front row, also had a race to forget after driving into the pack of Pascal Wehrlein on the opening lap and losing his front wing. A five-second time penalty was also sent his way.
Further penalties were handed out in the race to DS Penske's Taylor Barnard, who received a 10-second time penalty and an additional five-second time penalty for forcing Jean-Eric Vergne then Nico Müller off the track.
