Alpine Team Principal Bruno Famin believes the team has pin-pointed one of the main problems that affected Pierre Gasly in his first half of the season with the team.

Gasly struggled in the first half of the season to match teammate Esteban Ocon, who scored the team's first podium in 2023 at the Monaco Grand Prix.

By contrast, Gasly's highest position was seventh at Monaco and he later suffered a retirement due to opening lap contact at the Hungarian Grand Prix with Ocon.

Things started to turn around for the Frenchman at the Belgian GP when he scored a podium during the Sprint race, which was followed up with another podium during the tricky conditions at Zandvoort after the summer break.

Gasly now lies 11th in the Drivers' Championship ahead of Ocon, however the pair have not been without their on-track clashes.

Famin: We've been trying to solve communication problems

When asked about what specifically has improved with Gasly, Famin told media, including RacingNews365: "I think he's got used to the team. We also tried to give him the best possible environment.

"We’re trying to solve maybe some communication problems we had between the technical teams and him.

"Trying to make it more comfortable, to get the guys more listening or exchanging, and him to listen more to what the engineer was telling him.

"It works in both ways. I think he just gets used to the team and the team is making some effort also to have him well."
