Lando Norris dismantled the opposition at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to secure pole position for the Mexico City Grand Prix.
It was the McLaren driver's fifth of the F1 season and 14th of his career, and puts him well ahead of team-mate Oscar Piastri in seventh and Max Verstappen in fifth for the start.
A saving grace for the Briton's fellow F1 drivers' championship rivals is that the run down to the first corner is the longest of the campaign, and it will be difficult for the 25-year-old to hold position against the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, who line up second and third, respectively.
The Mercedes pair of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will go from fourth and sixth.
Carlos Sainz qualified seventh for Williams, but his five-place grid penalty from the United States Grand Prix drops him to P12.
NOTE: Grid remains provisional until officially confirmed by the FIA.
