Conditions at this weekend's Le Mans 24 Hours are shaping up to be close to ideal, with dry and warm weather expected throughout the race.
According to our weather partner Weeronline, temperatures on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons will reach around 28 degrees Celsius, with clear skies and little wind expected at both the 16:00 CET start and the 16:00 CET finish on Sunday.
Like much of western Europe, western France has experienced unsettled weather in recent days, and a few showers are still expected to pass through Le Mans and the surrounding area this afternoon.
Wednesday, when the opening phase of qualifying takes place, will bring a mix of sunny spells and cumulus clouds, with one final shower still possible and temperatures reaching around 20 degrees Celsius.
From Thursday onwards, however, the forecast becomes firmly dry. Thursday will be partly cloudy, with a high of 21 degrees Celsius for Hyperpole, before sunshine takes hold on Friday and temperatures climb to around 25 degrees Celsius in the afternoon.
The weekend itself is expected to be fully sunny. On Saturday evening, the sun will set at around 22:00 CET, with temperatures still a comfortable 22 degrees Celsius.
Overnight, conditions will cool to a minimum of around 14 degrees Celsius near sunrise at approximately 06:00 CET.
By 09:00 CET on Sunday, the temperature will already have risen back to around 20 degrees Celsius, climbing further to 27 or 28 degrees by the time the chequered flag falls on Sunday afternoon.
It looks set to be perfect conditions for the teams, drivers and spectators attending the 94th running of the legendary event at the Circuit de la Sarthe.
