2026 F1 Mexico City Free Practice 1 results
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc set the early pace at the Mexico City Grand Prix, by topping Free Practice 1.
A 1:18.128 was enough for the Monegasque to beat Kimi Antonelli to the fastest time by 0.659s in a dusty session as the Ferrari went quicker than FP1 in 2025 - a session also topped by Leclerc.
In a busy session for FP1 drivers, Fred Vesti of Mercedes, in for George Russell, was the best-placed rookie in third place, with Audi's Freddie Slater suffering a mixed session following an engine issue and being sent on track with a cooling fan still in the sidepod.
Elsewhere, Colton Herta finally achieved his F1 superlicence after completing 30 laps for Cadillac, with 24 required to achieve it.
