2025 F1 Singapore Grand Prix - Driver Ratings

Who has topped the latest round of driver ratings in 2025 - from the Singapore Grand Prix?

Round 18 of the F1 season brought delight for Mercedes and a constructors' championship title for McLaren in Singapore - and a whole lot of headaches for Zak Brown and Andrea Stella as Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris's title fight finally gets the needle it deserves.

But who topped the rankings - and who tanked his hopes of staying on the grid for next season with a poor performance?

Find out below and let us know in the comments if you agree with our ratings!

The top five

George Russell - 9.5

A dominant performance which peaked just at the right time to snatch pole with two stunning laps. The first stint of the race was where the hard work was done, building a 10-second gap, which made the second stint an exercise in traffic and race management. Docked 0.5 marks for his FP2 crash.

Max Verstappen - 9

Fantastic performance in managing various gripes with his RB21, and keeping Norris behind for so long within DRS and not allowing him more than one brief look around the outside. Could have been closer to Russell in qualifying, as a 0.182s gap in Q3 grew from 0.010s in Q2.

Fernando Alonso - 9

Typically feisty throughout the race, and made good progress after the slow pit-stop cost him track position. Took nearly 47s out of Hamilton in three laps at the end as he limped home, and fell short of a deserved P7 on track. Can't score higher due to being out-qualified by both a Racing Bulls and a Haas.

Lando Norris - 8.5

Usually, a driver who is out-qualified by his team-mate does not out-score them, but Norris's barge past Piastri showed the gloves are off. A little behind his team-mate throughout the weekend, Norris unlocked his race with the move on Piastri, and if he hadn't hit Verstappen, wouldn't have made contact with the sister car.

Oliver Bearman - 8.5

Another solid points finish for Bearman, who is consistently out-performing his vastly more experienced team-mate. Stunning move late on the brakes to pass Albon and P9 was perhaps the best he could hope for after being punted wide by an over-ambitious Hadjar at Turn 1 on the opening lap.

The bottom five

Gabriel Bortoleto - 4.5

Did well to make the tyres last as long as he did, but a bump back down to Earth following recent strong performances. A growing race for both the team and driver.

Esteban Ocon - 4

Firmly the second-best Haas driver at the moment, Ocon languished near the bottom of the qualifying time-sheets and was half a second slower than Bearman in Q1. Race was not much better, finishing 18th.

Pierre Gasly - 4

Unlucky with the oil issue in qualifying, but branded his race long and boring for a team going through the motions before 2026 offers fresh hope. Needs to arrest the slide and reassert himself over Colapinto, who out-qualified him again.

Nico Hulkenberg - 4

Did well to take P11 on the grid, but fell back into the lower midfield during the race. An uncharacteristic mistake when behind Colapinto led to the high-speed spinout, claiming Colapinto had braked 100m earlier than expected.

Liam Lawson - 3

To crash once in practice may be regarded as a misfortune; to crash twice looks like carelessness. Exactly not the kind of weekend you need to follow up on the high of Baku. Sincerest apologies to Oscar Wilde for the butchering of his iconic phrase from The Importance of Being Earnest.
