Max Verstappen fought back from struggles in first practice to top the timesheets in FP2 for the Monaco Grand Prix.
The F1 championship leader continued to fight the rear of his Red Bull but was able to head Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz - the Spaniard finishing his session in the barriers at the exit of La Piscine.
Fernando Alonso was fourth in his Aston Martin, with the top four separated by only 0.220secs.
Mercedes' long-awaited upgrade package has been added, though Lewis Hamilton was unable to match his FP1 third place, falling to sixth, whilst George Russell ended 12th.
Lando Norris impressed for McLaren to finish fifth fastest but ended his day in the garage with a problem discovered within his MCL60.
Valtteri Bottas was eighth for Alfa Romeo ahead of the two Alpine drivers - Gasly ahead of Ocon to round out the top 10.
