Carlos Sainz set the pace from Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc during Friday's first practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix.
Sainz clocked a time of 1:46.538 in largely dry but overcast conditions to finish just under a tenth clear of Leclerc, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen a tenth further back.
A shower in the final five minutes ended any chance of late improvements, with George Russell holding fourth from Lance Stroll and Alex Albon.
