Zandvoort has branded reports that the circuit sustained heavy damage during recent rainstorms as "fake news."
On Tuesday, an image was circulated on social media showing a stream running across the track with considerable mud and sediment following, as planned on-track running was halted for a brief while.
Rain had battered the coastal circuit on Monday, but Zandvoort has now clarified that no damage was incurred to the circuit, due to host the Dutch Grand Prix at the end of August.
"Yesterday’s heavy rain sparked some fake news about damage to the circuit," began a statement issued on social media.
"Early this morning, our team inspected the entire layout and found no damage, no delays.
"The surface is dry, clean, and 100% race-ready.
"In fact, since this morning, F1 Academy has been out on track for their scheduled practice sessions without any issues.
"All sessions are running exactly as planned."
