Yuki Tsunoda was hit with a double penalty whammy during the São Paulo Grand Prix.
Tsunoda initially ran into trouble with the Interlagos stewards after he made contact with Lance Stroll.
The Red Bull driver appeared to be out of control of his RB21 at one stage on the approach to a corner, hitting the Aston Martin driver at the apex and sending Stroll into a spin. Unsurprisingly, Tsunoda was handed a 10-second penalty.
Unfortunately for the Japanese driver, he later ran into further trouble for a failure to serve that penalty correctly.
Following another investigation by the stewards, they determined there was an issue.
Speaking to Sky Sports F1, team principal Laurent Mekies confirmed: "We think it's our mistake and we touched the car early on when we shouldn't have done."
