World-leading motorsport simulator company Dynisma has completed the installation of its "race-proven" DMG-1 machine for McLaren's new Hypercar programme.

The MCL-HY car is to mark McLaren's return to the World Endurance Championship from 2027, and the team is now benefiting from the "proven performance" of Dynisma's DMG-1 simulator at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking.

One of the most "realistic driver-in-the-loop simulation environments available," the tool will be used to help support "vehicle development, driver preparation and engineering evaluation."

Dynisma is one of the most trusted simulator manufacturers in global motorsport, with teams in Formula 1, Formula 2, WEC, IMSA and Formula E among the series using its hardware, including Dallara and the Alpine and Cadillac F1 teams.

Speaking of the new simulator, McLaren Hypercar boss James Barclay spoke of the benefits of the system.

"As we continue developing our Hypercar programme, access to a dedicated driver-in-the-loop simulator with the capability and fidelity of Dynisma is an important asset for our engineering and driver groups," he said.

"High-quality simulation allows us to accelerate learning, evaluate development directions efficiently and maximise preparation for our on-track testing programme. The correlation delivered by the system will provide valuable confidence in the work that the team will do in testing and racing."

Speaking about the project, Dynisma CEO Graeme Cook described the "trusted platform" the DMG-1 simulator had become.

"Dynisma is proud to support McLaren Hypercar Team as the team develops its FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar programme," he said.

"High-fidelity simulation is now fundamental to modern motorsport, with teams demanding ever greater levels of realism and correlation from their simulator environments.

"The DMG-1 has established itself as a trusted platform across top-level motorsport, and we look forward to seeing the team benefit from its capabilities throughout the development of the programme."
