Toto Wolff has responded to Red Bull's Christian Horner about who is the best Formula 1 driver on the grid. In an exclusive interview with RacingNews365.com Horner said George Russell's performance at the Sakhir Grand Prix last season proved that Max Verstappen was the best driver in F1. Wolff, who recently tested positive for coronavirus , did not agree with Horner's claim as the teams and drivers prepare for the upcoming 2021 Formula 1 season. "Christian [Horner] can't stop with the teasing in the background, but that's part of the game," said Wolff when interviewed by Austrian television network ORF. "You can only judge the best drivers on the grid if you let them race each other. "We didn't see Lewis against Max, we didn't see George against Lewis, we haven't seen Charles Leclerc in a top car. "But the future belongs to the young drivers and at some point they will all race against each other with the same equipment and then we will see who is the best." Wolff is aiming to lead Mercedes to an eighth consecutive drivers' and constructors' championship when the 23-race Formula 1 season begins in Bahrain on March 28.
