Charles Leclerc has expressed confidence Ferrari can “soon” fight again for race victories.
The Italian squad began the season in strong fashion and appeared as the second-fastest team, capturing race wins in Australia and Monaco.
However, Ferrari has slipped back in the pecking order at recent rounds with McLaren and Mercedes making a step forward.
Leclerc insists Ferrari has the pace with its current car to fight for wins but states uncovering its potential is proving to be a sticking point.
“I’m confident that if we do the steps that we are expecting to do soon, then we'll be fighting for race victories,” Leclerc told RacingNews365.
“We are only speaking about two or three-tenths that today makes a huge difference.
“But when you put everything back into context, especially with the issues we are facing now, I am confident that once we don't have those issues anymore and that we optimise our package, those two or three-tenths are back in the car.”

Ferrari recently conducted different test programmes across its car during the Silverstone race weekend in a bid to further understand its limitations.
Once it uncovers the root of its struggles, Leclerc is confident it can be back in the fight at the front of the field.
“We just need to find them and to put consistently the car in the right window,” he said.
“I don't think Montreal was because of the package, we also had the old package still there. It was more related to other things.
“But in the last two races, we've been trying to do that. We have been working very, very hard but there's still some work to do for sure.
“We are doing that, but I'm confident that once the issues will be solved, we'll be back to where we want to be.”
