EA SPORTS’ F1 25: 2026 Season Pack officially landed last week, bringing the latest Formula 1 season into the game as a major DLC update rather than a standalone release — and it delivers a significant overhaul for players.
The headline addition is the full integration of the 2026 season regulations, including updated hybrid power unit behaviour, revised car performance characteristics and the introduction of new teams Audi and Cadillac to the grid.
The update also features refreshed driver line-ups across all 11 teams, reflecting the real-world shake-up heading into the new era of F1.
One of the biggest gameplay additions is the all-new MADRING circuit in Madrid, which joins the calendar as a purpose-built street track. Early impressions suggest it is one of the most technical and demanding circuits in the game, particularly in low-speed traction zones.
EA has also introduced new systems aimed at replicating the strategic complexity of the 2026 regulations, including enhanced energy management mechanics, revised ERS deployment models and the controversial "super-clipping" behaviour that has defined real-world discussions around the new generation of cars.
The handling model has also been adjusted to better reflect the increased reliance on electrical deployment and lift-and-coast techniques.

Personal opinion
Having managed to fit in a few races across the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, I have to say I'm quietly impressed by the update.
While it has its teething problems, perhaps the greatest being MADRING track limits—or lack thereof—the 2026 update feels like a blessing in disguise. As of yet, I have failed to complete a lap of the MADRING without a wall being struck!
There is no hiding from the fact that the new power unit regulations are insanely complicated for teams, drivers, the media and, most importantly, the fans.
The fact the video game update has managed to incorporate super clipping, the need to lift and coast, and energy management is very impressive, and actually offers players a chance to get a rough understanding and appreciation of just how much work drivers are having to do on the steering wheel this season.
Activating active aero for the first time was also a pretty cool moment; seeing the front wing drop is something that still takes a serious amount of getting used to. Just like in real life, you do quickly become frustrated with the need for so much energy management, so on that note, EA Sports arguably needs praising for the level of realism.
Overall, the F1 25 2026 Season Pack represents more than a simple roster update. It effectively acts as a soft reboot for the game, aligning it closely with F1’s new technical era while laying the groundwork for EA’s next full release in 2027.
