Arvid Lindblad has confirmed his spot on the F1 grid for 2026 as he joins the Racing Bulls team alongside Liam Lawson.
The British driver has been part of the Red Bull F1 programme for several years and has become the latest talent to come through its ranks and obtain a spot on the F1 grid.
At 18 years old, Lindblad will be the youngest driver on next year's grid. Like all of the current top talents, Lindblad began his racing career in karting, winning the 2021 WSK Euro Series, a championship previously won by current F1 drivers Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris.
He made his single-seater debut in 2022, taking part in the final three rounds of the Italian F4 championship. There, he shared the grid with names such as Kimi Antonelli and Alex Dunne.
After finishing third in the same series in 2023, Lindblad moved to the Formula 3 series the following year with Prema and became the youngest winner in the championship's history at 16 years old with his Bahrain Sprint Race victory.
At Silverstone, Lindblad became the first driver in F3 history to win every race on a single weekend, claiming both the Sprint and Feature races. His four victories that season established a new record for wins by a rookie driver.
Following success in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship, which allowed him to seal a super licence, Lindblad progressed to Formula 2 and became the youngest winner in the series' history.
Red Bull has increased Lindblad's F1 exposure with a free practice debut at the British Grand Prix, which was followed by another outing in Mexico.
His sixth-place result caught the eye of team advisor Helmut Marko, who labelled Lindblad a “man for the future”.
Lindblad is due to be the only rookie driver on the F1 grid next year.
