The Haas F1 team became the first to conduct a 'launch' ahead of the 2023 season, releasing images of the livery for this season's car. With the American team very likely to follow their usual schedule of unveiling their car design on the day of the first F1 test, Haas opted for a livery-only reveal. Whilst the digital renders don't show a finished version of the VF-23 car, the images showed some curious details towards the rear of the car, including at the engine cover and the sidepod areas, which could point to their car design directions for 2023. Haas currently enjoy a strong technical partnership with Ferrari. The American team purchase many parts from the Italian team and have agreements to use their facilities . It had already been highlighted in 2022 that the team appeared to have taken inspiration from Ferrari's 2022 challenger partway through the year and, as RacingNews365 technical expert Paolo Filisetti explains, some similarities remain in the 2023 renders: "This car has a lot of resemblance to the Ferrari F1-75, especially with the sculpted upper profiles of the sidepods, and the fact that they are tapering in a different way towards the rear end. "The engine cover and the 'shark fin' on top of it also reminds me of the 2022 Ferrari. It's a more refined design compared to last year's car, which was pretty conventional in its central section. "These are the main parts which I believe have similarities to last year's Ferrari. "It is impossible to read any more into the subtle details because it is not the actual car, but these are the main clues to begin with."
