It was a thrilling qualifying session for the Monaco Grand Prix which ended with a front-row of Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso after an excellent battle for pole position.

Home favourite Charles Leclerc was third for Ferrari - but was handed a three-place grid drop by stewards for impeding Lando Norris in the tunnel in Q3, although most of the criticism in the verdict was directed at Ferrari for not informing the Monegasque of the McLaren.
He drops to sixth, promoting Esteban Ocon, Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton all up one position for the 78 laps around Monte Carlo.
