WATCH: Controversial NASCAR finish as winner wrecks TWO cars on purpose

Austin Dillon has come under fire for his actions in wrecking both Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin to win at Richmond.

As someone once said, "that's short-track racing."

But did Austin Dillon go too far in his desperate hunt for victory in the NASCAR Cup race at Richmond, in which he bumped and ran against leader Joey Logano on the final corner and then hooked Denny Hamlin on purpose to prevent the #11 stealing the win.

Dillon's #3 Richard Childress machine had been surprisingly quick at the Richmond short-track, and was in true contention for the win, something he needed to secure a playoff berth being only 32nd in points heading into the race.

The 'win and you're in' nature to the playoffs meant Dillon had nothing to lose given his situation as the race went to overtime, with Penske's Logano getting the jump on the restart.

Next time around, Dillon used the iconic 'bump and run' on the two-time champion, using the #22 Penske as his brakes, dumping Logano off into the barrier.

Then, egged on by his spotter, Dillon hooked Hamlin on the right-rear into the wall, a move that has earned other drivers a race ban in the past, including Bubba Wallace and Chase Elliott in recent years.

A furious Logano-branded Dillon's move as "chickenshit" and lashed out at him, saying he has sucked for his whole career, whilst Hamlin, also furious, took a more diplomatic position saying it was up to NASCAR to decide.

However, NASCAR appears to be content with the move that drew wide-spread criticism, but what do you think?
