As F1 embarks on the April break following the cancellation of the Middle Eastern races, dates have been set in which potential rule changes will be discussed.

A number of drivers have voiced their concern with the new cars this year, which have been built under a fresh set of technical regulations.

On Thursday, April 9th, technical directors from the FIA, the teams, and engine manufacturers will first hold a virtual meeting.

Armed with real data and an evaluation of the first three races, they will discuss the first steps of fine-tuning the 2026 regulations.

This meeting will primarily focus on immediate, short-term modifications that could be applied as soon as the next round, the Miami Grand Prix.

While adjustments to energy deployment can be made, RacingNews365’s sources warn that more substantial changes will require additional time.

Crucially, this upcoming session is intended for preparatory work rather than final decision-making.

The heavy lifting is expected at a more significant meeting on the 20th of April.

At that time, team principals will sit down with FIA and F1 officials to vote on the proposed modifications.

Our sources suggest that at this meeting, they will talk about more serious changes, for fine-tuning the rules for the future.

Final implementation of any changes will still require formal approval from the FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC).
