Video: Does this analysis shed new light on the Verstappen/Hamilton crash?

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton's second clash of the season sparked plenty of reaction and debate. Now, popular motorsport content creator Crashalong has released a 3D animation to break down each phase of the incident.

There seems to be a certain pattern with Hamilton's moves... He gives space, then moved away from the race line to take away the space, forcing an error on his opponent. In this case, assuming the video is correct, his move at the end of the pit lane is... Well, inconsiderate, at least. He's driving much slower than Verstappen, who has sufficient speed and warm tires to pass Hamilton on the outside. Then Hamilton takes away the space, forcing Verstappen on the curves. Again, if this video is correct then it should either be a race incident, or a penalty for Hamilton. I cannot say he did it deliberately, but I find his behavior on track certainly questionable. Assuming again this video is correct.

Let us assume the animation (very well executed and a lot of work) is correct. It shows that Max Verstappens view on his opponents driving is correct. If one compares the trajectory of Lando Norris with the route Hamilton takes one can clearly see that Hamilton crosses the racing line and leaves very little space on his left. Lando is following the racing line and hits the apexes, Hamilton has no intention to hit the apexes. He seems to invite Verstappen to make the pass and when the Red Bull comes alongside he washes out to the left making clear that his intention is to deny Max the corner and prevent him to overtake. One can argue that it is his right to do so because he is in front but the time he takes and the way he does that greatly endangers his opponent. Max should stay away from Hamilton in the future because Ham is a dangerous driver who preferred to crash instead of losing his chance on a champions title.

Assuming this video is correct.... where did Lewis think Max could go? I know he drives a Redbull but it certainly doesnt give him wings. Lewis brought this on himself by closing the door too far. They call that a proffesional foul in football. Unfortunatly the wrong player got the red card.... should have been yellow for both.

Assuming that the video is correct, you all forgotten one thing. They were both Hamilton's corners. Just like Silverstone was Verstappen's corner. If Hamilton does not defend his position, he may as well pull over when he sees Verstappen. To much of an optimistic a move by Verstappen. He was unlucky with the kerb and the rest is history. Hopefully more battles to come and they are cleaner than they have been.
