Verstappen: Monaco has not been the best for me

The Red Bull driver feels Monaco has been a weak track for him in the past due to a number of factors but is looking to turn things around this weekend.

Max Verstappen feels Monaco has not been nice to him during his F1 career and is eager to make amends this weekend. Verstappen has never been on the podium at the Monaco GP and has crashed at crucial moments of the event when he's had a car that has been capable of winning the race. "So far Monaco I've made a few mistakes from my side, been a bit unlucky in other races," Verstappen told RacingNews365.com and other select members of the press. "It's not been the best for me so far, but it will be nice to turn that around." Verstappen trails championship leader Lewis Hamilton by 14 points and believes there is something about Monaco that makes it stand out even compared to other street circuits such as Singapore. "It's something very different especially qualifying you got to the limit, and it's so narrow around here," said Verstappen. "There are some other street circuits out there, but it always feels like there's more room there "Qualifying is so important around here because in the race it's very difficult to pass so there's always naturally a bit more focus on qualifying."
