British-Swiss talent Callum Voisin will represent Andretti in Sunday's annual Formula E rookie test, to be held at the Circuito del Jarama following the Madrid E-Prix.
The 20-year-old is very much a rising star and was hugely impressive on his Formula E debut in last year's rookie test in Berlin, where he secured fifth on the timesheets for Cupra Kiro.
On that day, Voisin, who was racing in Formula 3, was faster than the likes of Daniil Kvyat, Theo Pourchaire and reigning F2 champion Leonardo Fornaroli. Recently, he became a Porsche-affiliated driver after claiming one of the top prizes in UK motorsport.
He was announced at the 2025 Porsche Night of Motorsport Awards as the 2026–2027 RAFA Racing Club Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain Junior driver, receiving £85,000 towards his budget for each of the next two seasons, along with significant support and opportunities from Porsche.
As a result, he is signed up to the Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain for the next two seasons, while he will also race in the Italian championship this year.
Before that gets underway, a late opportunity to drive for Andretti in the rookie test arose following a phone call from Campbell Hobson, the outfit's team manager.
"Yeah, the conversations came about fairly recently, to be honest," Voisin told RacingNews365 during an interview.
"It was a nice surprise to get the phone call from Campbell [Hobson] asking me to do the rookie test. I wasn't really expecting it, to be honest. It's a very nice surprise, so I'm very happy. And yeah, I can't wait to get going."
For the 2023 GB3 champion and F3 race winner, representing a brand like Andretti is a career milestone, and he has already visited the team's base to meet his engineers and get accustomed to its simulator.
Explaining the special feeling of knowing he will represent Andretti, Voisin detailed: "I think besides, obviously, driving a Formula E car around Madrid, which is one of the quickest circuits that Formula E goes to, just driving with the Andretti badge—or knowing I've got the Andretti badge on my suit and on the race car—is very special, for sure.
"Even wearing it in the workshop the other day was a very cool feeling. So no, it's pretty surreal for now."

A Formula E future for Voisin?
Having represented Cupra Kiro a year ago, this weekend's test will offer Voisin his first experience of the full Porsche Gen3 Evo package, adding to his own expectations. He will be joined by Audi junior Freddie Slater.
Asked about his excitement to drive a fully up-to-date Gen3 Evo Porsche, Voisin said: "Yeah, it's exciting. Driving the older Porsche was still very cool, and it went very well. But for sure, this year I've got big expectations. So no, it should be good."
It is easy to see why Voisin has high expectations of himself given the strength of his performance in the Berlin test; working with Andretti this time around is an excellent step in his development.
Formula E is a category very much of interest to the Geneva-born driver, who is also well aware of the upcoming Gen4 machinery.
Discussing whether he sees a future in Formula E, Voisin explained: "Yeah, absolutely, for sure. It's a serious option for me. Over the last year or so, I've done a fair amount of stuff in the background for various teams and whatnot.
"So yeah, it's something that I haven't been extremely involved in, I guess, but I've been somewhat involved over the last 12 months, and I can definitely see it being somewhere that I could call home.
"Obviously, it's not easy. There are 24 seats, but at the end of the day those 24 fill up very, very quickly. So all you can do is build up relationships with teams and team personnel, and then do the best job possible when you do get the opportunity."
According to Voisin, the test with Andretti came directly through conversations with the American team, not via support from Porsche.
Despite this, it is the perfect moment for him to be an affiliated driver of the German marque, which will enter a second factory team next season aimed at developing young talent as a junior squad.
But is a full-time spot next season an option for Voisin? He is not completely ruling it out, saying: "Next season, we'll see. I think stranger things have happened. So you never know."
Asked directly if the second factory Porsche team is an option, Voisin replied: "I can't comment on anything like that. I don't know, I'm not sure, but absolutely I would love to be considered.
"Obviously, it sounds very exciting to have two Porsche factory teams, and especially now with me having an affiliation with Porsche, that can only help on that side."
