Following a four-week break, Formula E returns this weekend for the inaugural Madrid E-Prix, held at the Circuito del Jarama.
While it is the first competitive Formula E event at the historic venue, it is not the sport's first visit. In 2024, Jarama stepped in at the last minute to host pre-season testing following devastating floods in Valencia.
It is comfortably the longest circuit on the calendar, with lap times expected to be around 90 seconds. It will also be the first single-header event to feature Pit Boost.
Due to concerns over the simulated shortness of the race, Pit Boost has been introduced for Madrid, while the race distance has also been increased to 23 laps from 21.
Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein enters as the championship leader, six points ahead of Mahindra's Edoardo Mortara after the Jeddah double-header, where Wehrlein and Antonio Felix da Costa claimed the wins.
On Friday, March 20, the first free practice session begins at 15:50 GMT, representing the drivers' first experience of Jarama since 2024.
On Saturday, March 21, the rest of the weekend schedule takes place, beginning with second practice at 08:30 GMT.
Qualifying follows a couple of hours later at 10:40 GMT, before the sixth round of the season gets underway at 14:00 GMT.
