Lance Stroll believes there was a problem with his Aston Martin "that didn't make sense" in Italian Grand Prix qualifying after his Q1 elimination. Stroll qualified 20th and slowest of all at Monza having had a disrupted weekend, and not posting a flying lap until Saturday practice. He stepped out of the AMR23 in Free Practice 1 for Felipe Drugovich to fulfil the requirement for a young driver to drive a practice session, before a fuel system glitch ended his running in the second session in the opening minutes.
Stroll's early elimination
"I didn't do a lap [on Friday], but there was something going on in the car [in qualifying] that didn't make sense," Stroll told media including RacingNews365. "It was tricky, but I didn't feel any grip in the car. "In the session, I just couldn't get to grips [with the car] and it is the worst session I've ever had. "We will [look into what we can do for the race], but it is going to be hard."
